Poison Ivy Spraying

Plant-Health-Care

Poison ivy, oak, and sumac are plants that commonly cause an allergic skin reaction. The result is most often an itchy, red rash with bumps or blisters. What exactly causes this reaction? It’s called urushiol, colorless, odorless oil contained in the leaves of the plants. Multiple applications are necessary for proper control of Poison Ivy. The process includes a full spray application on the first visit and second visit in late spring or early summer. The following visits will involve cutting heavy vines. This process may take 2-3 years for complete control. After the third year, one monitoring visit per year is usually sufficient.
